The comments to the article include the typical world is ending complaints about corporatism you’d expect from a local, albeit excellent, food blog. But, the crazy thing about capitalism is grocery shoppers that prefer the Wedge can still shop at the Wedge. And to take it a step further, if the majority of grocery shoppers still prefer the Wedge, then perhaps Trader Joe’s will fail in that location.
Sarcasm aside, the Wedge probably doesn’t have anything to worry about. People go to the Wedge for exceedingly fresh fruit/vegetables and an excellent meat counter, among other things. People shop at Trader Joe’s for cheap frozen food. There doesn’t appear to be significant overlap.
